Position Overview

The Technical Records Specialist is accountable to the CH149 Technical Record Supervisor, overseeing the management of Technical Records for the CH149 fleet and the -519 variant of the AW-101 aircraft. The primary responsibility of this position involves maintaining the organization and executing data updates within the CH149 Electronic Record Keeping System, with a significant secondary emphasis on data analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage configuration and implement data updates for the CH149 Electronic Record Keeping System (ERKS), GOLDesp, and the Compound - Interactive Electronic Technical Publication (C-IETP).
  2. Support the CH149 Technical Record Supervisor by providing HUMS data for ASIP and ILS initiatives related to the CH149 fleet, coordinating with the aircraft OEM and IMP Solutions.
  3. Offer expertise to in-house CH149 Engineering Life Cycle Specialists in accessing trend data from Oracle/HUMS systems to facilitate technical investigations on aircraft systems.
  4. Transform ATO and AMO policies and technical directives into GOLDesp and C-IETP data elements.
  5. Ensure TAM-compliant management of the Electronic Record Keeping System essential for the CH149 Cormorant helicopter's support.
  6. Coordinate the distribution of GOLDesp and C-IETP updates to user units.
  7. Assist with parts Repair & Overhaul activities and Structure Building in GOLDesp for HIA heavy maintenance (PIM) aircraft.
  8. Conduct data collection and analysis on the CH149 fleet and operations to support CSH program metrics and Key Performance Indicators.
  9. Engage in additional data collection and analysis as part of CSH program initiatives.
  10. Prepare reports for the CSC regarding CH149 materials, upgrades, modifications, and component usage trends.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by the CH149 CIS & Technical Record Supervisor.

Qualifications

  1. A CET (Diploma in Engineering Technology) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. A minimum of 4 years of experience in an aircraft engineering and maintenance environment, with direct experience in aircraft systems.
  3. Experience with the CH149 Cormorant is preferred.
  4. Extensive knowledge of rotary wing aircraft systems and components.
  5. Strong project and task management skills.
  6. Essential database and general computer skills, with experience in enterprise-level databases (Oracle) and common applications like MS-Access.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word and Excel.
  8. Familiarity with GOLDesp is desirable.
  9. Understanding of airworthiness regulations, standards, and military modification processes is beneficial.
  10. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  11. Self-discipline and the capability to work independently when necessary.
  12. Possession of or previous holding of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license or equivalent qualification as an aircraft technician within the Canadian Armed Forces, CSH, or commercial aviation.
  13. A commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies, with a focus on personal and collective safety.
  14. Participation in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 5S initiatives in your area.
  15. Eligibility to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
