Position Overview:

The Technical Records Specialist is accountable to the CH149 Technical Record Supervisor and is responsible for the management of technical records for the CH149 fleet, including the -519 variant of the AW-101 aircraft. The primary focus of this role is to maintain the organization and execute data updates within the CH149 Electronic Record Keeping System, alongside a significant emphasis on data analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee configuration management and implement data updates for the CH149 Electronic Record Keeping System (ERKS), GOLDesp, and the Compound - Interactive Electronic Technical Publication (C-IETP).
  • Collaborate with the CH149 Technical Record Supervisor to provide HUMS data for ASIP and ILS activities supporting the CH149 fleet, coordinating these efforts with the aircraft OEM and IMP Solutions.
  • Offer expertise to in-house CH149 Engineering Life Cycle Specialists in retrieving trend data from Oracle/HUMS systems to aid in technical investigations of aircraft systems.
  • Transform ATO and AMO policies and technical directives into GOLDesp and C-IETP data elements.
  • Ensure TAM-compliant management of the Electronic Record Keeping System necessary for supporting the CH149 Cormorant helicopter.
  • Facilitate the distribution of GOLDesp and C-IETP updates to user units.
  • Provide support for parts Repair & Overhaul activities and Structure Building in GOLDesp for HIA heavy maintenance (PIM) aircraft.
  • Conduct data collection and analysis on the CH149 fleet and its operations to support CSH program metrics and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Engage in additional data collection and analysis as part of CSH program initiatives.
  • Generate reports for the CSC regarding CH149 material, upgrades, modifications, and component usage trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CH149 CIS & Technical Record Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • A CET (Diploma in Engineering Technology) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in an aircraft engineering and maintenance environment, with direct experience in aircraft systems.
  • Preferably possess experience with the CH149 Cormorant.
  • Extensive knowledge of rotary wing aircraft systems and components is essential.
  • Strong project and task management skills.
  • Proficient in database management and general computer skills, with experience in enterprise-level databases (Oracle) and common applications like MS-Access.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with GOLDesp is advantageous.
  • Understanding of airworthiness regulations, standards, and military modification processes is beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels, both in writing and verbally.
  • Strong self-discipline and the ability to work independently when necessary.
  • Must hold or have previously held an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license or equivalent qualification as an aircraft technician within the Canadian Armed Forces, CSH, or commercial aviation.
  • Commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies, with a focus on personal and collective safety.

  • Eligibility to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
