About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Orthotic Technician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in providing technical expertise towards evaluation, treatment planning, and fabrication of assistive devices, primarily orthoses, to enhance patient mobility and/or physical function.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our inter-professional healthcare team to provide optimal care and assist patients in achieving their orthotic goals. You will work closely with certified clinicians to ensure the quality and integrity of orthoses provided to patients meet their physical and functional needs.

We are looking for a candidate who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team. You will also have a high level of manual dexterity, strong problem-solving abilities, and computer skills.

The ideal candidate will have registration in good standing with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (annual renewal), a minimum of two years' experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

We offer a competitive salary of $36.54 hourly and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements and infection control procedures. You will also have excellent organizational skills and be able to manage changing caseloads.

Hours and Compensation

The successful candidate will work 75 hours bi-weekly and will be compensated at a rate of $36.54 hourly.
