We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Orthotic Technician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. Reporting to the Program Manager of Assistive Technology, this individual will provide technical expertise in the evaluation, treatment planning, and fabrication of assistive devices, primarily orthoses, to enhance patient mobility and/or physical function.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the inter-professional healthcare team to provide optimal care and assist patients in achieving their orthotic goals. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with:
- Registration in good standing with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (annual renewal)
- Minimum of two years' experience (Technical Internship is considered experience)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational abilities to manage changing caseloads
- High level of manual dexterity and strong problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements and infection control procedures
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $36.54. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
