About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Orthotic Technician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in providing technical expertise towards evaluation, treatment planning, and fabrication of assistive devices, primarily orthoses, to enhance patient mobility and/or physical function.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our inter-professional healthcare team to provide optimal care and assist patients in achieving their orthotic goals. You will work closely with certified clinicians to ensure the quality and integrity of orthoses provided to patients meet their physical and functional needs.

We are looking for a candidate with strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. If you have a passion for delivering high-quality care and are committed to excellence, we encourage you to apply.

About You

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Registration in good standing with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (annual renewal)
  • Minimum of two years' experience (Technical Internship is considered experience)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills to complete assigned work and manage changing caseloads
  • High level of manual dexterity and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements and infection control procedures
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours and Compensation

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $36.54 and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Successful candidates may be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
