About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Orthotic Technician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our Assistive Technology department, you will play a critical role in providing technical expertise and support to patients and healthcare professionals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, designing, and fabricating custom orthoses to enhance patient mobility and physical function. You will work collaboratively with our inter-professional healthcare team to provide optimal care and achieve patient goals.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registration in good standing with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (annual renewal)
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a related field (Technical Internship is considered experience)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and manual dexterity
  • Computer skills and ability to learn new software
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements and infection control procedures
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary of $36.54 hourly. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
