We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at the Simcoe County District School Board. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students to achieve success in academic, behavior, social, life skills, and co-op situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs, including those with special needs, English language learners, and students who require academic support.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, other Educational Assistants, and support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as organization, time management, and self-advocacy.
  • Support students in co-op situations, including job shadowing, work experience, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the role, including standing, walking, and lifting.
