Job Title: Personal Support Worker

At Simcoe County, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team. As a valued member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, in accordance with established standards and recognized nursing principles.
  • Assist residents with daily activities, such as eating, walking, and transferring, to promote their independence and well-being.
  • Observe and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to registered staff, ensuring timely interventions and care planning.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans, working collaboratively with the care team to ensure resident-centered care.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals, maintaining confidentiality and respecting residents' rights and dignity.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Personal Support Worker Certification program, as per the Long Term Care Homes Act and Regulations.
  • Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, and TB testing as per Public Health requirements.
  • Previous experience working with seniors or in a long-term care facility, with a strong understanding of resident-centered care principles.
Working Conditions:

This role is located in a long-term care facility, with exposure to illnesses and germs possible on a daily basis. A flexible work schedule, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, is required.
