Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team at Trillium Health Partners. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide client-centered clinical care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide goal-oriented treatment interventions, patient/family education and support to address physical, emotional and self-care needs as assigned
- Provide timely and astute information to relevant team members about patient's performance
- Participate in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation
- Supervise activities of OTA/PTA students, volunteers and co-op students as assigned
Requirements:
- Certificate from both an Occupational Therapist Assistant Program and the Physiotherapist Assistant Program
- OTA experience in Neuro and/or Stroke rehabilitation is an asset
- Current BCLS and evidence of continuing education is required
- Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional with demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members, to exercise good judgment, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal, organizational, communication and documentation skills
- A positive work and attendance record is essential
