Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team at Trillium Health Partners. As a dual-trained OTA/PTA, you will provide client-centered clinical care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide goal-oriented treatment interventions, patient/family education and support to address physical, emotional and self-care needs.
  • Provide timely and astute information to relevant team members about patient's performance.
  • Participate in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation.
  • Supervise activities of OTA/PTA students, volunteers and co-op students as assigned.
  • Provide clinical teaching, mentoring and/or supervision for OTA/PTA students.

Requirements:

  • Certificate from both an Occupational Therapist Assistant Program and the Physiotherapist Assistant Program.
  • OTA experience in Neuro rehabilitation is an asset.
  • Inpatient acute care experience required.
  • Current BCLS and evidence of continuing education is required.
  • Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional with demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, organizational, communication and documentation skills.
  • A positive work and attendance record is essential.
