Job Responsibilities:
- Provide coverage as a Physiotherapy Assistant and Occupational Therapy Assistant across various sites as assigned.
- Collaborate with the inter-professional team to facilitate effective care planning and ensure seamless transitions for patients.
- Deliver care under the supervision of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, adhering to relevant legislation and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of program and unit-level objectives, policies, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Complete workload measurement reporting in a timely manner.
- Engage in clinical teaching and mentoring for OTA/PTA students, participating in inter-professional education experiences.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma from a recognized two-year college program for both Physiotherapy Assistant and Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Proven ability to work effectively in an inter-professional team environment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (or evidence of completion within three months of hire).
- Strong attendance record.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in inpatient medicine and/or intensive care units.
- Background in providing education to patients and families in both individual and group settings.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
