St. Martha's Regional Hospital (SMRH) is in search of a dedicated full-time pediatric medical specialist to join a collaborative team of four physicians.

SMRH is located approximately two hours from a major pediatric care facility, which offers neonatal support services.

Established in 1906, St. Martha's Regional Hospital is a 90-bed institution with over 60 medical professionals across various specialties and subspecialties.

This facility caters to a community of nearly 40,000 residents from surrounding areas.

Opportunities for research and medical education roles with a local university are available for interested candidates.

Office space is conveniently located within the hospital.

Pediatricians will work alongside specialists in:

# Family Medicine

# Hospitalists
# Internal Medicine (general and sub-specialty covering the ICU)
# Obstetrics/Gynecology
# Ophthalmology
# Otolaryngology

# Radiology (U/S, CT, MRI, ECHO)
# Visiting Oncology and Neurology

Community-based healthcare is further enhanced by a men's and women's health center, chronic pain clinic, methadone clinic, walk-in clinic, and youth clinic at a local high school.

The staff at St. Martha's Regional Hospital take pride in delivering exceptional patient care and fostering a collegial work environment. Additionally, the hospital boasts the most active accredited Continuing Medical Education (CME) program in the province, along with regular social events for medical staff.
Responsibilities

The pediatrician will engage in a full spectrum of pediatric care, serving patients within the eastern zone and participating in on-call duties.

The physician will report to the Zone Department Head of Women and Children's Services regarding professional responsibilities and quality of care, adhering to the Medical Staff Bylaws of the health authority.

Qualifications

  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
