YouthLink is committed to empowering young individuals by providing essential support and resources to facilitate positive life choices. We are currently seeking a dedicated Youth Engagement Coordinator to lead a significant initiative aimed at enhancing youth development in the community.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Youth Engagement Coordinator, you will:

  • Collaborate with community partners to create and implement engaging weekly group activities tailored to the diverse needs of youth.
  • Oversee intergenerational support initiatives, fostering connections through Elder Support Groups.
  • Manage youth lounges, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for young people to socialize and relax.
  • Facilitate access to employment opportunities through peer mentorship and partnerships with local businesses.
  • Develop and coordinate mentorship programs in collaboration with organizations focused on youth leadership and community development.
  • Organize training workshops on crisis intervention to equip youth with essential skills.
  • Plan and execute a variety of special events throughout the year to celebrate youth achievements and promote community engagement.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A diploma in Social Services, Child & Youth Work, or a related field, combined with relevant experience.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with youth in various settings.
  • Strong skills in program facilitation, youth engagement, and community collaboration.
  • Cultural competence and a commitment to addressing community challenges.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and the ability to provide support during critical situations.

This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours. The position also involves physical activity, including lifting program materials and setting up community spaces.
