**Job Summary**
The Director, Employee Relations and Wellness will play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience at Sheridan College. Reporting to the AVP and Chief Human Resources and Facilities Officer, this senior leader will be responsible for fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, ensuring strong employee and labour relations, and overseeing health and wellness programs that enhance the well-being and safety of the Sheridan community.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead a team of HR specialists to develop and implement strategies that promote a healthy, inclusive, and engaging work environment
- Partner with union representatives to ensure effective labour relations and negotiate collective agreements
- Develop and implement health and wellness programs that meet the evolving needs of employees and the institution
- Provide strategic advisory services to senior administration on employee relations and labour matters
- Investigate and resolve workplace conflicts and grievances
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote a positive and inclusive work culture
**Requirements**
- Master's degree in a related field (e.g. Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in HR leadership, preferably in the public sector
- Proven track record in labour relations, negotiations, and conflict resolution
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and engage teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Certified HR Professional or Leader designation (CHRL or CHRP) an asset
