Student Recruiter Advisor

The Associate Student Recruiter Advisor plays a vital role in promoting programs and services at Douglas College by maintaining and executing domestic student recruitment programs. This position requires exceptional client-centred service skills to engage with various stakeholder groups.
Key Responsibilities- Program Promotion and Coordination
- Presents relevant information to groups on the benefits of post-secondary education, Douglas programs, admission requirements, student services, financial awards, student life, and partnerships.
- Provides accurate information to domestic students on possible post-secondary programs at Douglas based on their interest areas.
- Establishes connections with public and independent secondary schools, government agencies, and community groups.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships within the university and college community, and other institutions, businesses, and community agencies.
- Directs FSO student staff in supporting Student Ambassador activities.
- Leads the process of identifying and recruiting students for the DC Ambassador Program.
- Conducts interactive and innovative trainings and group meetings for the Ambassadors.
- Acts as a professional mentor to students in the experiential learning model of leadership.
- Provides onsite supervision for College events that involve student activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field from a recognized post-secondary educational institution.
- A working knowledge of the B.C. post-secondary education system, including admission requirements and programs, graduation, partnerships, and articulated agreements.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, including written and verbal fluency in the English language.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM system.
- Criminal Record Check is required as a condition of employment.
- Demonstrated ability to execute student recruiting activities, including speaking effectively to groups, interviewing prospective and existing students, and interacting with people of various backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully participate in a wide range of recruiting events, including prospect engagement, volunteer management, and event supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and grow an experiential student leadership program.
- A valid B.C. driver's license and access to a motor vehicle is essential.
