Your Opportunity:

This role is pivotal in collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders, providing essential support to operational leaders and end users for the enhancement of Clinical Informatics. The position plays a crucial role in supporting direct patient care by tracking quality indicators and key metrics, while working closely with frontline teams to enhance compliance and ultimately improve patient care and safety. This role also involves managing, prioritizing, and monitoring clinical informatics processes and changes.

Role Overview:

The Senior Consultant for Clinical Informatics will actively engage with site and program stakeholders to perpetually enhance the quality and reliability of clinical information. Acting as a key representative for the site/program, this consultant will address all aspects related to the utilization of Clinical Information Systems (CISs) and their impact on clinical operations. The lead will spearhead various improvement initiatives that are influenced by or dependent on CISs, ensuring that the clinical priorities of the site/program are effectively supported by the CIS in operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the reporting and dissemination of clinical information for informed decision-making and performance evaluation.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring adherence to clinical and accreditation standards.
  • Evaluate and assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the services provided to meet the needs of service users.
Qualifications:

A degree in a health-related field is required, with a master's degree preferred. Current registration with a professional association (if applicable) is necessary. Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience in a large, complex organization, alongside at least 2 years of experience in utilizing or managing clinical information systems. A demonstrated history of professional and personal development is essential.

Additional Skills:

Strong analytical and evaluation skills for quality improvement and benefits realization are required. Candidates should have a solid understanding of relevant health information standards and the interdependencies among various health information systems. Excellent communication and presentation skills are crucial, along with experience in facilitating knowledge transfer and teaching adult learners. Leadership experience in care teams or direct patient care is also necessary.
