As the Lead Agency for the Hamilton service area under the Moving on Mental Health initiative, we are committed to transforming the experiences of children, youth, and families facing mental health challenges. Our role involves leading and facilitating systemic reform in Hamilton, collaborating with various child and youth mental health service providers, community partners, and families.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at our Head Office. While fluency in both English and French is preferred, it is not a mandatory requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized psychological insights to an interdisciplinary team, including Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Child Youth Workers.
  • Contribute to the development and formulation of treatment plans utilizing a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to the unique needs of children, youth, and families.
  • Engage in a collaborative clinical team environment, participating in intake, implementation, program development, and evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, assessments, and reports in accordance with agency policies and regulatory standards.
  • Document assessments, treatment plans, and interventions following agency guidelines while adhering to professional standards set by the regulatory college.
  • Provide leadership in the treatment planning process and assess treatment outcomes.
  • Contribute to the creation, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs.
  • Facilitate training sessions for staff in collaboration with the Clinical Director and Program Managers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology is required.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, with authorization to work with children and adolescents.
  • Proficiency in a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a treatment or counseling setting with families and children/youth.
  • Strong skills in consultation, teaching, inter-professional collaboration, and supervision of advanced learners.
  • Experience in administering and interpreting psychological assessments relevant to cognitive, academic, and socio-emotional functioning.
  • Ability to develop intervention plans aimed at enhancing client functioning in home and community settings.
  • Experience working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to achieve common goals.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and specialized software for client data management and reporting.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for local travel.
