Lynwood Charlton Centre (LCC) is a publicly funded charitable organization dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of innovative and evidence-based mental health services.
We offer a variety of programs including residential, day treatment, and community-based services tailored for children, youth, and families within the community.
As the Lead Agency for the Hamilton service area for Moving on Mental Health, we are committed to transforming the experiences of children, youth, and families facing mental health challenges, while enhancing the community-based system for delivering these essential services.
To achieve this, we collaborate closely with other child and youth mental health service providers, community partners, and families engaged in our services.
We are currently seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our Head Office team. While fluency in both English and French is preferred, it is not a strict requirement.
Reporting directly to the Clinical Director, the Psychologist plays a crucial role within our multidisciplinary team, providing care to children and youth with complex mental health, behavioral, and developmental challenges, as well as their families.
The responsibilities of the Psychologist include:
- Conducting psychological assessments and clinical formulations.
- Providing brief individual, group, and family interventions.
- Making treatment recommendations and consulting with staff on psychology-related matters.
- Leading program development, quality assurance, and research initiatives across the organization.
Additionally, the Psychologist will:
- Offer specialized psychological insights to the interdisciplinary team, which includes Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Child Youth Workers, and BCBA's.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of treatment plans using a variety of evidence-based modalities tailored to the unique needs of children, youth, and families.
- Participate in a collaborative clinical team environment, engaging in intake, program development, and evaluation.
Maintaining clinical records, assessments, and reports in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements is essential. The Psychologist will also document assessments, treatment plans, and interventions while adhering to professional standards.
Key qualifications include:
- A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, with authorization to work with children and adolescents.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in inpatient or outpatient treatment settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in administering and interpreting psychological assessments.
- Experience in developing intervention plans to enhance client functioning in home and community settings.
- Proficiency in utilizing technology for client data management and report preparation.
- A valid G class driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel.
We are committed to fostering diversity and encourage all qualified applicants to consider this opportunity. Selected candidates with disabilities will be accommodated throughout the selection process.
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Competitive salary with pension plan
Comprehensive benefits including vision, dental, and disability coverage
Generous paid time off policies
