Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Hamilton Health Sciences. As a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in assessing, planning, and evaluating client goal achievement through individual and group interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including psychometric and diagnostic evaluations, to inform treatment planning.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, including individual and group therapy, to address complex mental health issues in pediatric populations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care to children and adolescents.
  • Participate in program development, quality assurance, and research initiatives to advance the field of pediatric mental health.
  • Provide consultation and education to staff on psychology-related issues and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university, with a preference for those with an emphasis in child psychology.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, with authorization to work with children and adolescents.
  • Extensive knowledge and current experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of internalizing and externalizing disorders and complex co-morbidities in a pediatric mental health population.
  • Expertise in a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and family-based therapy.
  • A minimum of three years of recent, relevant experience in a mental health setting, preferably serving an outpatient pediatric population.
  • Advanced skills in the development and documentation of specific interventions, conducting research, and evaluating service outcomes for children and adolescents with complex co-morbidities.
