Job Title: Food and Beverage Assistant Manager

At Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food and Beverage Assistant Manager to join our team. This is a salaried, full-time position that requires a strong background in food and beverage operations, supervisory experience, and excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the daily work of all Food and Beverage employees, ensuring effective labor cost control and maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Coordinate banquets and special functions with the Kitchen, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Train and develop new employees, providing orientation and ongoing training to ensure they meet Banff Centre's standards of excellence and customer service.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of all food and beverage areas and equipment, adhering to Banff Centre's Health & Safety Policies.
  • Issue cash floats to staff and outlets daily, ensuring reconciliation and return at the end of each shift.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and supervision to direct reports, allocating assignments across the Food and Beverage team.
  • Foster an internal culture that maintains the highest standards for customer service, excellence of staff, participant, and guest experience, and fiscal, operational, and organizational integrity.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years' food and beverage and supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of banquet/meeting set-ups, proper food handling practices, service etiquette, service styles, and excellent customer service.
  • Familiarity with PC-based programs, including Word, Excel, and Point of Sales program applications.
  • A professional attitude and appearance is essential.
  • Knowledge of Time & Attendance, ProServe, First Aid, and ASIP are also required.
  • A valid Alberta driver's license.
