Position Overview

As a Retail Operations Supervisor at Campden General Store, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily functions of our diverse retail environment. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 30 to 35 hours per week.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a supervisory role within retail or related sectors
Work Environment

This position is based in a rural setting, where you will manage operations in a variety of retail contexts, including a liquor and wine store, coffee shop, second-hand store, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate and enhance operational processes regularly.
  • Plan and organize the workflow of daily activities.
  • Manage and allocate tasks to staff members effectively.
  • Implement pricing strategies and credit policies.
  • Assess staffing needs and recruit suitable candidates.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for team members.
  • Supervise both staff and volunteers to maintain a productive environment.
  • Coordinate maintenance and operational activities.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure necessary materials and inventory.
  • Establish and enforce operational policies and procedures.
Supervision

You will be responsible for supervising a team of 3 to 4 individuals.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in various software systems is essential, including:

  • Point of Sale systems
  • Electronic scheduling tools
  • Accounting and inventory management software
  • Word processing and spreadsheet applications
Work Conditions

This role demands a fast-paced work environment where attention to detail and the ability to manage tight deadlines are crucial. The position involves a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with the expectation of standing for extended periods.
