Electrical Department Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Department Manager to join our Industrial and Infrastructure Business line in the Burnaby office.
The successful candidate will lead, manage, and grow our established electrical engineering department, reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing a team of electrical engineers to deliver high-quality projects and programs
- Assuming the role of Contract Representative on projects and programs with various infrastructure clients
- Responsible for the commercial performance of the department
- Assessing, planning, and scheduling work across members of the team
- Developing and training team members to stay ahead of emerging trends
- Growing the team through existing contracts and clients, as well as new ones
- Adhering to client schedules and coordinating assignments with other disciplines
- Leading regular department meetings to ensure actions are delivered upon
- Conducting business development and preparing/reviewing engineering proposals based on clients' RFPs/RFQs
- Ensuring the team's awareness and compliance with EGBC requirements
- Working in accordance with Ausenco's values and demonstrating commitment, active involvement, and leadership regarding safety, sustainability, client, people, and financial accountabilities
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years' experience, including at least 5 years' experience in a leadership or management role with direct reports
- Experience managing teams of 10-30 combined direct and indirect reports
- Strategic thinking and excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong commercial acumen and previous business development experience with both new and existing clients
- Proven ability to lead, manage, motivate, and develop employees
- Technical competence and strong attention to detail
