About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at Sedgman Pty Limited. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the design and development of structural engineering solutions for large and small projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead structural analysis and design tasks for complex mineral processing or heavy industrial structures
  • Work on Canadian and international design projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Develop and deliver structural design deliverables, including reports, specifications, drawings, and analysis models
  • Conduct field reviews of existing structures and structures under construction
  • Review and evaluate technical work prepared by junior engineers and designers
  • Provide guidance and oversight to junior staff working on projects
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and global offices to deliver projects
  • Assist with proposals and estimating of work-hours and fees
  • Report on design progress to Design Managers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a Structural Focus
  • Over 5 years of experience in structural engineering in Mining, Mineral Processing, or Heavy Industrial (preferably in North America)
  • Professional Engineering license (P.Eng) desirable
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Experience in design of Concrete and steel structures, vibration analysis, and large rotating equipment
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in local and national codes and legislative requirements
  • Experience and ability in seismic design of structures, performance-based design, and seismic retrofits
  • Ability to perform 3-D structural analysis (Linear and Nonlinear)
  • Familiarity with structural and engineering software like SAP2000 and Mathcad
