Position Overview

The Food Service Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities within a food service establishment, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role
Work Environment

The role is set in a fast-paced environment where the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is essential. The supervisor will encounter various odours typical of food preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement methods to meet work schedules effectively.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff involved in food preparation and portioning.
  • Provide training to staff regarding job responsibilities, sanitation, and safety protocols.
  • Estimate the necessary ingredients and supplies for meal preparation.
  • Recruit and hire food service personnel.
  • Ensure that food quality and service standards are consistently met.
  • Prepare budgets and cost estimates for operations.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on operations.
  • Establish and manage work schedules for staff.
Supervision

The supervisor will oversee a small team, including:

  • Food and beverage servers
  • Food service counter attendants and food preparers
