Job Summary:

The Unit Clerk Float Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical environment. Reporting to the Unit Manager, this individual will perform a variety of clerical tasks, provide supportive functions for patients and staff, and maintain the cleanliness of the clinical area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the healthcare team, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping
  • Assist with patient registration, admission, and discharge processes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Perform routine cleaning and disinfection of the clinical environment
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Unit Clerk course
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an ambulatory clinic or in-patient care environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and coding
