Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Alberta Health Services Full time

Your Opportunity:

At Alberta Health Services (AHS), we prioritize the well-being of individuals. As the largest healthcare provider in Canada, our mission is to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-and-family-centered care. Our dedicated workforce comprises over 108,000 employees, 7,700 medical professionals, and 15,600 volunteers, all committed to serving millions of Albertans. AHS fosters a challenging work environment that promotes personal achievement and career advancement. We also emphasize ongoing professional development through funding and various educational opportunities. Eligible employees benefit from a comprehensive range of perks, including life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, Local Authority Pension Plan, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, as well as medical, dental, and extended health care benefits.

Position Overview:

The HR Business Partnership Analyst plays a crucial role within the HR Business Partnership Team, collaborating closely with the HR Advisor assigned to their specific portfolio and reporting to the Manager/Senior Advisor of HR Business Partnerships. This position operates with a significant degree of autonomy, providing essential support to a variety of stakeholders, including employees, managers, and HR Advisors. Key responsibilities encompass basic interpretation of collective agreements, processing recognition of prior experience, managing temporary position extensions, FTE adjustments, site transfers, reviewing union seniority dates, and addressing client inquiries. Additionally, the Analyst participates in special projects, develops various reports, and supports the duty to accommodate and return-to-work processes. The role necessitates a proactive approach in generating ideas and engaging others to enhance quality and processes continuously.

The Analyst must communicate effectively and strategically, delivering diverse and sometimes complex information in a diplomatic and concise manner to all stakeholders. Investigative skills are essential, as the Analyst will engage HR Specialty Teams and Service areas to resolve issues and determine when HR Advisor support is necessary. Maintaining current knowledge in areas such as Recruitment and Staffing, Compensation, Employee and Labour Relations, and Position Management is vital. This position adheres to the Human Resources Philosophy of 'any door is the right door,' ensuring that all client inquiries are resolved or seamlessly directed to the appropriate HR or related personnel.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Previous experience in a Human Resources capacity is essential. Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Human Resource Management Information Systems (e-People/PeopleSoft), is crucial.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills are necessary. The ability to facilitate processes with patience and flexibility while working with stakeholders is essential. Strong teamwork, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are required. Maintaining positive and effective working relationships across all organizational levels is crucial. A client-focused orientation and commitment to delivering quality services are imperative. Professionalism and adaptability to changing priorities in a busy, detail-oriented work environment are essential. Proven capability to collaborate with stakeholders to achieve organizational goals, ideally within a unionized environment, is preferred. A strong commitment to teamwork and the ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve common objectives with internal and external stakeholders is necessary. Flexibility to navigate varied scenarios and competing priorities daily is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Human Resources, particularly within a large, complex, and diverse organization, is preferred; experience in healthcare and/or union environments is an asset. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. A demonstrated pattern of professional and personal development is advantageous. Familiarity with administrative policies, procedures, and standards related to staffing, recruitment, employee, and labour relations is preferred.
