About the Role

The City of Lethbridge is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Infrastructure Services Application Analyst. This role is a key part of our team, responsible for ensuring that our business applications are effectively managed, tailored, and optimized to support operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Application Performance Monitoring: Monitor application performance to ensure efficient operation for Infrastructure Services departments.
  2. Efficiency Opportunities: Identify opportunities to develop efficiencies related to core work priorities and major accountabilities that meet corporate needs.
  3. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure that systems and applications comply with relevant legislation, organizational policies, and guidelines, while providing detailed reports for compliance verification.
  4. Project Management: Manage multiple complex projects related to Infrastructure Services departments related to business applications.
  5. Operational System Procedures: Plan, design, and implement new operational system procedures and processes.
  6. Software Evaluation: Lead the evaluation of proposed software.
  7. Data Management: Manage the availability, usability, and integrity of data and systems for the Infrastructure Services Family, including but not limited to Planning and Design, Lethbridge Transit, and other Tempest stakeholder users.
  8. Data Quality: Assure data quality in terms of accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and completeness.
  9. Reporting and Analytics: Create and manage customized and standard reporting and analytic tools to provide information required for business operations and reporting.
  10. Database Queries: Develop and execute database queries to solve problems and validate data using SQL or similar tools.
  11. System Configuration: Assist in the configuration, maintenance, deployment, versioning, and operation of third-party systems for both hardware and software.
  12. User Management: Setting up new users and changing application access as requested.
Requirements
  1. Education: Post-secondary education in computer science or a related field.
  2. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience within a large organization, including experience in data analysis, analytic methods, systems development, and project management.
  3. Leadership: Experience leading data analysis and business process redesign.
  4. Data Analytics: Experience building dashboards, data analytics, and providing data information to users to enable data-driven decision-making processes.
  5. Project Management: Experience leading and managing projects.
  6. Industry Knowledge: Experience and understanding of terminology and processes within a Transit department as well as Planning, Building Inspection, and Taxation areas.
  7. Reporting Tools: Knowledge and skill with specialized reporting tools, such as Power BI, Crystal Reports, Reports Now, etc.
  8. Application Development: Knowledge of application or systems development and life cycling.
  9. SQL Skills: Proficient knowledge and skill with Structured Query Language (SQL) query tools.
  10. Problem-Solving: Proactive analytical and problem-solving skills.
  11. Leadership: A leader committed to excellent public service delivery and winning the hearts of the community.
  12. Team Environment: Proven ability to foster a collaborative team environment that promotes individual growth and development.
