Infrastructure Support Analyst II

Overview: The primary role of the Infrastructure Analyst II is to engage in the planning, construction, management, monitoring, and support of infrastructure environments, including operating systems, servers, storage solutions, databases, and backup systems at remote server locations. This position adheres to established policies and procedures that align with industry standards, such as the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). The analyst will also work in collaboration with various teams during the implementation of new solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Incident Management: Proactively monitor systems to identify performance issues. Follow standard troubleshooting protocols for incidents and verify system operations within defined timeframes.
- Product Installation: Conduct routine installations and configurations according to established standards, integrating systems and products as necessary.
- Operations Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including management and support of ESX, Windows, virtual environments, Storage Area Networks, data backups, and Active Directory. Ensure infrastructure security and manage disaster recovery plans.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance to anticipate potential failures.
- Problem Resolution: Address procedural, operational, and technical challenges as they arise.
- Collaboration: Work with other Holcim Group companies to share and develop best practices for technology solutions.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with business representatives and application support leads for strategic planning and integration activities related to the portfolio.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years in a related field.
- Travel: Minimal travel requirements, less than 15%.
Additional Requirements:
- Certifications: VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Professional, or equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Sheets.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with VMware ESX, Windows Operating Systems, and virtual environments.
- Familiarity with Storage Area Networks and Microsoft services.
- Understanding of network architecture and infrastructure security.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Work Environment: This role may involve working in various conditions, including exposure to mechanical parts and atmospheric conditions. Physical demands include standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
