About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Promotions team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, processing, and managing large datasets across various data platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data pipelines to ingest and enable analytics at scale.
  • Develop and maintain stable, scalable, and low-cost solutions to create necessary data flows.
  • Lead design reviews and guide senior leadership on ideal technical solutions to complex business problems.
  • Collaborate with other data teams within Amazon to drive growth and inform business decisions.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of data engineering experience.
  • Experience with SQL and at least one modern scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS).
  • Experience mentoring team members on best practices.
  • Experience building and operating highly available, distributed systems for large data sets.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR).
  • Experience building data products incrementally and integrating data sets from multiple sources.
  • Experience with MPP databases (e.g., Amazon Redshift).
What We Offer

Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. We offer a competitive salary range of $135,700/year to $226,500/year, depending on experience. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, we also offer equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package.
