Senior Big Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Big Data Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, processing, and managing large datasets across various data platforms. Your expertise will enable us to identify the best set of products to promote, select the most effective promotion types, and learn from past promotions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, low-cost solutions for data flows
  • Work with customer teams to understand data requirements and build data pipelines
  • Lead design reviews and advise senior leadership on technical solutions
  • Collaborate with other data teams within Amazon

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with SQL and modern scripting languages
  • Experience mentoring team members and building highly available systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and EMR
  • Experience building data products and integrating data sets from multiple sources
