Job Title: Senior Metallurgist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Metallurgist to lead our Process Technology team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing Process Technology Quality Plans, ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and global standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee Process Technology Quality Plans for small to large size projects
  • Develop and oversee Process Activity Plans for small to large size projects
  • Execute Fluor's scope of work according to contract requirements
  • Interface with client representatives, project, planning, process, and instrument engineers, operations, and maintenance to align contract requirements and expectations
  • Lead a team of engineers to develop drawings and specifications for study, feasibility, Front End Engineering Development (FEED)/Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction (EPFC) phase project definition and/or execution
Requirements
  • An accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in engineering and a minimum eighteen years of work-related experience is required, as is a recognized Canadian Professional registration
  • Experience in the design and construction of mineral processing facilities for the recovery of copper, nickel, gold, or other base and precious metals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, with demonstrated competent report writing skills
  • Demonstrable ability to supervise junior and intermediate engineers
