We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Leader to join our team at Amazon Data Services Canada, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for mentoring and leading engineers, guiding them towards best data development practices, and collaborating with users around the globe.
Key Responsibilities- Work with our Product and SDE teams to build data systems that simplify bringing new models to customers and enhance visibility into our underlying modeling process.
- Develop and implement data architectures built on AWS services, such as Redshift, Glue, S3, and Step Functions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers on data engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions.
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for full software development life cycle.
- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.
- Experience building data products incrementally and integrating and managing data sets from multiple sources.
- Familiarity with data architectures built on AWS services.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and EMR.
- Knowledge of carbon accounting protocols such as GHG Protocol.
