Key Responsibilities

As the Head of Accounting Standards, you will:

  • Conduct thorough research and documentation of new International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and present findings to senior management for implementation alongside internal teams.
  • Supervise and guide team members and external consultants in their analyses of accounting policies.
  • Facilitate training sessions for internal stakeholders on relevant accounting topics.
  • Oversee the technical review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and suggesting improvements.
  • Lead external financial reporting initiatives and draft necessary documentation.
  • Analyze complex investment transactions to determine appropriate accounting treatments, collaborating with senior management on necessary adjustments.
  • Serve as the in-house expert on accounting reporting for our organization.
  • Address ad hoc requests from business units, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of operational needs and aligning them with industry practices.
  • Present findings and implications of accounting standard changes to internal clients and senior management.
  • Represent the Accounting Policies Group in technical discussions with auditors regarding accounting and reporting issues.
  • Design and maintain effective accounting and reporting processes, optimizing team resources.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our business and investments to identify transactions with accounting implications.
  • Establish a collaborative network with external peers for benchmarking and best practices in financial reporting.
  • Document all accounting issues, analyses, and conclusions through position papers and memos.
Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, particularly regarding financial instruments and fair value.
  • Proven experience in drafting financial statement notes and external management reports.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical information.
  • Initiative in proposing solutions to accounting challenges.
  • Results-driven with a client-focused approach.
