Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough reviews, research, and documentation of new International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in partnership with internal clients.
- Oversee, coordinate, and mentor team members in the analysis of accounting policies.
- Facilitate training sessions for internal clients on pertinent accounting policy subjects.
- Lead the preparation of external financial reports related to investments and draft necessary documentation.
- Evaluate complex investment transactions to determine the correct accounting treatment.
- Serve as the in-house authority on accounting reporting.
- Handle ad hoc inquiries from business units, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of operational requirements.
- Deliver presentations to internal clients and senior management regarding accounting and reporting matters.
- Design and sustain accounting and reporting processes to optimize resource utilization.
- Establish and nurture a collaborative network with external peers for benchmarking financial statements.
- Utilize position papers and memos as primary tools for documenting accounting issues, analyses, and conclusions.
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS, especially concerning financial instruments and fair value.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting notes for financial statements and external management reports.
- Strong drive, results-oriented approach, and client-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to research and analysis.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and build meaningful relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA or Auditor designation.
- At least 15 years of experience in financial accounting or equivalent experience with a Big 4 audit firm.
- Experience in researching and documenting accounting issues.
