Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Finance and Operations to join our team at Sandvik. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, analysis, and reporting for our Production Unit in Montreal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee financial planning and analysis activities to identify risks and opportunities and prepare reports and recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the preparation of timely financial reports for Sandvik Group and Automation Business Unit management, analysis for other internal stakeholders, and the Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate with other department heads to ensure cost-effective operation of the site.
  • Oversee all financial control and accounting activities of the site, including general accounting, inventory control, project accounting, payables, receivables, treasury, and tax.
  • Manage foreign currency exposure via partnerships with the Global Treasury Department.
  • Coordinate with external tax specialists to evaluate the eligibility of research and development programs to government programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
  • Coordinate audits and examination by internal auditors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead the periodic enterprise risk management assessment in adherence with company policies and develop effective risk management strategies.
  • Manage insurance policies and coverage with the Global Risk Management Department.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles according to IFRS standards.
  • Experience with a Tier 1 ERP mandatory, SAP S/4 Hana preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Power BI).
  • Good English writing and speaking skills.
