The hospice provides a serene environment for individuals to spend their final days comfortably.
Position Overview
The Director of Philanthropy (DOP) is a pivotal role within CHS, reporting directly to the Executive Director. The DOP is tasked with spearheading fundraising efforts to meet the organization’s financial objectives. This role encompasses diverse fundraising strategies, including grants, annual campaigns, planned giving, and major gifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead fundraising initiatives for the organization, ensuring comprehensive strategies are in place.
- Develop and manage an annual budget for fundraising activities.
- Engage with both new and existing donors to cultivate relationships and secure funding.
- Create and distribute marketing materials across various platforms, including print and digital channels.
- Oversee social media management to enhance community engagement.
- Organize and execute fundraising events to support financial goals.
- Prepare grant applications, proposals, and reports to secure funding.
- Build and maintain a volunteer team to assist with fundraising efforts.
- Provide regular financial updates and reports to the Executive Director and Board.
- Demonstrate a successful track record in fundraising and donor relationship management.
- Utilize donor database management systems effectively.
- Exhibit strong organizational and decision-making skills.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for travel to various events.
Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer usage may be required.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary.
- Initial onboarding will take place in the office, with potential for remote or hybrid work arrangements thereafter.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package that includes health benefits, dental coverage, life and disability insurance, an employee assistance program, and RRSP matching.
