Coquitlam, Canada One Girl Can Full time

The Manager of Philanthropy is primarily responsible for the execution of major gift solicitation, cultivation and stewardship activities involving individual, corporate and foundation donors as well as grant writing and fund development.

Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, this position will support in developing and implementing donor stewardship strategies and tactics, while maintaining our database/CRM and optimizing reporting functionality.

**Major Responsibilities and Duties**

**1. Major Gifts/Fundraising**
- Maintain a Major Gifts portfolio of individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations.
- Develop and nurture relationships with current major donors and partners and coordinate customized touch points, such as personalized reports, thank you notes and telephone calls.
- Implement donor acquisition plan and prospect strategy to drive new business and revenue to the organization.
- Assist in soliciting event sponsorships and facilitating sponsorship commitment for OGC’s annual fundraiser.

**2. Donor Stewardship/Relations**
- Manage all aspects of the sponsorship program, including pairing prospective sponsors with an approved new student, stewarding the annual renewal of the sponsorship, coordinating semi-annual personalized correspondence between sponsors and students, and managing interns to help facilitate the exchange of correspondence.
- Provide monthly reports on new donor acquisition, prospects, renewals and attrition.
- Ensure donor satisfaction through responsiveness to inquiries, with prompt and effective problem-solving.
- Responsible for tracking all donor activity and maintaining the donor database in CRM (Salesforce).
- Work closely with the Director of Philanthropy and the Marketing Manager to create, and develop cultivation and stewardship initiatives, including execution of fundraising and stewardship strategies and programs, and segmented donor stewardship plans to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Prepare impact reports for the Board and OGC donors as required and necessary.
- Manage and maintain fundraising software platforms such as FundRazr.

**3. Fundraising Implementation, Grant Writing & Reporting**
- Manage a portfolio of foundations as well as research and develop pipeline for new grant opportunities.
- Work with the Director of Philanthropy and Marketing Manager to prepare correspondence, gift agreements, stewardship reports and other materials based on the current case for support.

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising and donor relations.
- Completion of Fundraising Management and/or International Development Program degree or diploma.
- Experience in a non-profit organization with preference for experience in major gifts, donor relations, stewardship, and grant writing.
- Proven track record of successfully securing gifts, grants and sponsorships.
- Exceptional computer literacy skills, specifically donor database systems (Salesforce).
- Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and some proficiency with prospect research tools.
- Ability to use Adobe InDesign and Canva an asset.
- CFRE or involvement with AFP an asset.
- Demonstrated writing skills; donor communication and grant writing an asset.
- Clear and valid BC driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is required.

**COMPETENCIES**
- Proficiency in English grammar, spelling and punctuation is vital, including the ability to compose simple, clear, concise correspondence to donors with warmth and sensitivity.
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to be a collaborative team player and establish and maintain positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
- A high degree of initiative, resourcefulness, creativity and thoughtfulness in the decision-making process.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills; must have the ability to meet assigned objectives and prioritize workloads.
- Self-motivated, results oriented with the ability to work under mínimal supervision.
- Natural relationship builder: proven ability to build and nurture solid, trusting relationships.
