Position Title: Sample Processing Specialist

Reports to: Laboratory Manager

Department: Food Residue

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently and accurately input sample data into the computer database, with data entry constituting a significant portion of this role.

• Ensure timely and precise entry of client orders in accordance with established protocols; manage necessary documentation and communicate with project management as needed.

• Verify that the correct test codes and parameters are applied for each job, utilizing available resources such as quotes or master test code lists.

• Maintain accuracy for all in-house projects, ensuring all relevant information is correct.

• Adhere to departmental workflows and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

• Proactively ensure client satisfaction through effective communication with project management and supervisors.

• Collaborate with team members to address and resolve outstanding issues or jobs.

• Work closely with customer service to enhance Bureau Veritas's market presence with both existing and prospective clients.

• Implement innovative strategies to meet performance standards and business objectives, as assessed through various metrics.

• Streamline processes and procedures to enhance efficiency while focusing on quality and continuous improvement.

• Participate in regular team meetings to share insights and updates.

• Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization in the workspace.

• Comply with Bureau Veritas's Code of Ethics and all relevant policies, including health and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in a scientific field is preferred.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a sample entry or similar laboratory role.

• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute with high accuracy.

Working Conditions:

• Fast-paced laboratory environment requiring high productivity.

• Flexibility in working hours, including potential overtime and shift work.

• Physical demands may include standing for extended periods and lifting heavy materials.

Compensation: Bureau Veritas is committed to offering competitive pay, with the salary for this role starting at $19.97, subject to variation based on location and individual qualifications.
