Position Overview:

The University of Toronto is seeking a qualified individual to teach a course focused on Pharmacokinetics (PK), which explores the interaction between drugs and the body. This course will provide students with a foundational understanding of PK principles and methodologies.

Course Objectives:

Students will delve into essential PK concepts, including:

  • Understanding the relationship between drug dosage and body exposure.
  • Exploring population PK (PopPK) and physiologically based PK (PBPK) modeling techniques.
  • Utilizing software tools such as PhoenixTM NLME and PK-Sim for model creation.
  • Applying PK knowledge to real-world scenarios, including dose determination and formulation comparison.
  • Engaging with industry professionals through a panel discussion to gain insights into career opportunities in the field.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a strong academic background in Pharmacokinetics and PBPK, with demonstrated expertise in teaching using PK-Sim software. Previous teaching experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the course coordinator to refine the syllabus.
  • Conduct a weekly two-hour class, including a tutorial session.
  • Evaluate and grade assignments.
  • Facilitate tutorials and assist students with PKSim software.

Additional Information:

This position requires in-person duties at the designated campus. The estimated course enrollment is 15 students, and the position offers a competitive rate of pay.

Preference will be given to candidates who have advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or III, in accordance with the relevant collective agreement.
