Faculty Position in Computer Science

The Department of Computer and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough invites applications for a full-time teaching stream position in Computer Science. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Computer Science, including lecture preparation and delivery, curriculum development, and development of online material/lectures.
  • Develop and maintain a strong teaching philosophy, with a focus on pedagogical inquiry and scholarly activities.
  • Contribute to the department's teaching and research initiatives, and participate in departmental and university-wide committees.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and research skills.
Requirements
  • PhD degree in Computer Science or a closely related area by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter.
  • Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, with a strong teaching philosophy and a commitment to pedagogical inquiry.
  • Experience in teaching undergraduate courses in Computer Science, with a focus on lecture preparation and delivery, curriculum development, and development of online material/lectures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and staff.
