Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Bakery Operations Specialist to join our team at our Food Store location in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our bakery department, including preparing products, maintaining production records, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare products prior to baking as per Co-op standards, package and label finished products, decorate and frost cakes and other baked goods
  • Maintain and display all types of bakery products according to department standards
  • Take special orders from customers, receive and accept merchandise for the Bakery Department
  • Continually monitor code dates to ensure the freshest inventory on the shelf at all times; follow FIFO
  • Operate bakery ovens and provide proper maintenance of equipment, monitor case temperatures and clean equipment regularly
  • Engage and interact with guests to create a positive shopping experience – in person and on the phone
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Honest and trustworthy, results orientated, and proud of the work that you do
  • Well organized, and capable of attaining a high level of production, with a minimum amount of supervision
  • Familiar with Food Safe procedures and practices
  • Previous baking experience would be considered an asset
  • Ability to lift and load products: extensive physical labour is required
  • Flexible work schedule; weekend and evening work is required
