Job Title: Director, Institutional Programs

At the University of Waterloo, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Director, Institutional Programs. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our institution's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion across the university.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to senior administrators, faculty, staff, and students on equity and anti-racism issues.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address systemic barriers to underrepresented groups.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote a culture of equity and anti-racism.
  • Manage and lead a team of professionals to achieve the unit's goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as human rights, diversity, equity, and anti-racism, and inclusion.
  • Significant experience in leading and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in a research-intensive or post-secondary environment.
  • Proven ability to align work priorities and realize strategic goals.
  • Experience in staff management, including performance management and coaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
