Position Overview

Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Staff Scheduling Coordinator

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking dedicated Staff Scheduling Coordinators to support the staffing operations at our healthcare facilities. We invite you to become a vital part of our team.

In your role as a Staff Scheduling Coordinator at VCH, you will contribute by:

Executing staff scheduling and timekeeping responsibilities for assigned units and programs, which includes preparing, modifying, and disseminating staff schedules from the primary rotation. Analyzing the primary rotation and flow sheets, while allocating and contacting relief nursing and non-nursing personnel through an electronic system to address vacancies, staffing gaps, absences, and sick leaves in accordance with relevant collective agreements. Ensuring that personnel with the necessary qualifications are scheduled and available. Managing and processing vacation and other personnel requests, while addressing written and verbal inquiries from staff and management regarding vacation balances and related matters.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Completion of Grade 12 along with four (4) years of recent, relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills & Competencies

Proficient in effective verbal and written communication. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues. Physical capability to perform the duties associated with the position. Strong organizational skills. Competence in operating relevant office equipment.

Additional Information

Work hours, including days off and work locations, may be subject to change based on operational needs and the provisions of the Collective Agreement and applicable regulations. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per current Public Health Orders, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have received a single dose of the most-recent, updated COVID-19 vaccine. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
