Position Overview

Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Staff Scheduling Coordinator

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking dedicated Staff Scheduling Coordinators to become part of our staffing team. This role is essential in ensuring that our healthcare facilities operate smoothly and efficiently.

In your role as a Staff Scheduling Coordinator at VCH, you will contribute by:

Managing staff scheduling and timekeeping responsibilities for specific units and programs, including the preparation, modification, and publication of staff rotations from the primary schedule. Evaluating the primary schedule and flow sheets, and allocating relief nursing and non-nursing personnel through an electronic system to address vacancies, shortages, and leaves of absence in accordance with relevant agreements. Ensuring that staff with the necessary qualifications are scheduled and available as needed. Processing vacation and other personnel requests, while addressing inquiries from staff and management regarding vacation balances and related matters.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Completion of Grade 12 plus four (4) years of recent, relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills & Competencies

Proficient in effective verbal and written communication. Capable of collaborating effectively with team members. Physically able to perform the duties associated with the position. Strong organizational skills. Competent in operating relevant office equipment.

Additional Information

Work hours, including days off and work areas, may vary based on operational needs and the provisions of applicable agreements. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.

In accordance with current Public Health Orders, all employees of Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have received a single dose of the most recent COVID-19 vaccine. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
