Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for incoming IT support inquiries.
  • Adhere to best practices for IT support, from ticket initiation to resolution, including documentation and the creation of standard operating procedures.
  • Provide constructive feedback on processes and suggest improvements.
  • Offer technical support for hardware, software, networks, and operating system challenges.
  • Manage installations or replacements of computers, telecommunication devices, and other peripherals.
  • Assist with the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting at the desktop level when remote solutions are insufficient.
  • Collaborate with system administrators or vendor support to resolve issues.
  • Research solutions using internal and external resources as necessary.
  • Maintain regular communication with users to ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or a college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and peripheral setup.
  • Experience with desktop and server operating systems.
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues across the OSI model.

Work Environment

  • The Help Desk Technician operates in an office setting.
  • Must be capable of performing essential functions, including prolonged periods of sitting and maintaining focus while addressing staff requests.
  • Should be physically fit to enter data, read from screens, and comprehend verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Availability to start work early in the morning is required.
  • Willingness to travel to various dealership locations as needed.
