Lead Project Architect
Overview
The structures that define our surroundings often appear as enduring elements, anchored to specific times and locations. However, what if this perception could be altered? What if our constructed environments — where we reside, learn, engage in leisure, and conduct business — propelled us into the future instead?
Our Architectural practice prioritizes human experience, acknowledging that our collective progress is influenced by the significant and adaptive spaces we create. From landmark designs to groundbreaking projects, we invite you to contribute to the realization of transformative architectural solutions.
Your Role
As a Lead Project Architect within our esteemed Architecture team, you will operate autonomously to guide clients through the planning and execution of projects that are deeply aligned with their requirements, financially viable, and exemplify design excellence. Your extensive experience will ensure familiarity with the design process from inception to completion, including compliance with codes and regulations, contract documentation, cost estimates, and building standards.
As an integral member of our design team, you will be expected to cultivate a collaborative and engaging atmosphere for the teams you oversee while also guaranteeing design excellence, outstanding project delivery, and the utmost levels of client satisfaction throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and inspire innovative thinking, critical analysis, and design excellence.
- Ensure that the overall design vision of the project is reflected in the detailed documentation.
- Oversee the design process from the conceptual phase through to construction administration.
- Facilitate communication with various disciplines, vendors, and contractors.
- Play an active role in the production of project deliverables.
- Engage with clients and conduct presentations.
- Support business development initiatives.
- Assist in identifying and recruiting design personnel.
- Encourage collaboration among Stantec offices.

- Assess the quality of design and related activities.
- Participate in performance evaluations, including setting career objectives.
- Engage staff in discussions about design.
- Direct project photography and media initiatives.
- Serve as an ambassador for the firm's portfolio of work.
Qualifications
- Ability to engage in innovative and critical thinking.
- Strong presentation and interview capabilities.
- Experience leading teams on large, complex projects.
- Welcoming of design critiques and responsive to feedback.
- Review the work of others for accuracy and thoroughness.
- Interpret sketches, drawings, codes, and building programs effectively.
- Exhibit professionalism and cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrate knowledge of building construction systems.
