Job Summary

We are seeking an Architectural Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our design team to support design development, plan and prepare construction documents, and support permit applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our design team to support design development and plan and prepare construction documents.
  • Push the boundaries of conventional design detailing with a deep understanding of the needs of the end user.
  • Resolve complex design and technical issues with senior team guidance and design team support.
  • Promote team members to develop in-house expertise and methodologies to advance the group and the efficiency and effectiveness of our architectural team.
  • Build architectural BIM models, starting in Concept/Schematic Design and through all design and construction phases.
  • Coordinate models and drawings with the project team using cloud-based software.
  • Provide technical support to the designer, specifications, and contract administration team as required.
  • Implement practice goals and objectives through leadership, coaching, and mentoring of the architectural team members.

Requirements

  • 3+ years progressive experience as an architectural technologist.
  • Earned a diploma in Architectural Technology, or other relevant training.
  • Proficient with Revit.
  • Experience and/or interest in working in sectors including (but not limited to) Commercial, Healthcare, Institutional, Mixed-Use/Living, Retail, Science and Technology.
  • Knowledgeable of building codes, building construction systems, engineering systems, building materials, and specifications.
  • Excellent visual/graphic, written, and verbal communication skills with a focus on effective collaboration.
  • A self-starter who can take direction and work through problems independently while thriving in a team environment.

Nice to Have

  • Certified LEED project experience.
  • Adobe Suite and other visualization software experience.
