This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior Architect to become part of a vibrant design studio. The firm engages in a diverse array of project types, including award-winning designs, institutional buildings, public spaces, community developments, mixed-use facilities, and civic projects, ranging from small to large scale. With a growing presence across multiple locations, the firm is looking to expand its team in Calgary.
ROLE OVERVIEWThe Senior Architect will play a crucial role in managing projects through various stages and will lead project teams in Calgary, Alberta. This position involves direct client interaction and requires expertise in proposal development and business growth initiatives, working closely with other leaders within the firm. The ideal candidate should possess experience in institutional projects and demonstrate the ability to mentor and guide junior staff. Key qualifications include:
- Master's Degree in Architecture (Registered with AAA or eligibility for transfer from another province)
- A minimum of 12 years of industry experience
- A proven history of successful projects in institutional, civic, mixed-use, or community sectors (a variety is preferred)
- A meticulous approach to project management with an entrepreneurial mindset, driving projects to successful completion
- Experience in business development and proposal creation
- Strong client relationship skills and a passion for client engagement
- Exceptional design capabilities and a keen appreciation for high-quality design, supported by an impressive portfolio
- In-depth knowledge of and practical experience with Canadian building codes
- Outstanding presentation and communication abilities
