Position Overview:
Durham College is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fulfill the role of a part-time instructor within our Professional and Part-Time Learning (PPL) department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering online courses in:
- Human Resources Management Principles
- Career Development for HR Professionals

Key Responsibilities:
The role of a part-time instructor includes, but is not limited to:
- Creating an inclusive learning environment that respects students' diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Employing adult education principles to actively engage students in their learning journey.
- Utilizing educational technologies effectively to enhance learning and manage assessments.
- Developing relevant curriculum and assessment strategies to evaluate student performance.
- Ensuring course content remains current and applicable to industry standards.
- Demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Collaborating effectively with students, program teams, and various stakeholders.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of relevant industry experience directly related to the subjects being taught.
- A Master's degree in Business or a related field; additional qualifications such as a Bachelor or Master of Education, or Certified Human Resources Professional designation are advantageous.
- Experience in Human Resources is preferred.
- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level or in a business context, with a strong understanding of adult education methodologies.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
- A proven track record of meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in using technology to support student learning and manage evaluations.
- A self-motivated individual who can also thrive in a collaborative environment.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
- Familiarity with the Ontario community college system.
