Position Overview:

WSP Canada is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee our Transportation - Alternative Delivery Department. This role is pivotal in steering and executing intricate P3 and alternative delivery initiatives, focusing on significant transportation infrastructure projects such as highways and transit systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the technical milestones and phases for the successful execution of medium to large-scale complex projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including project managers, engineers, designers, inspectors, and environmental specialists.
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure effective communication.
  • Maintain regular updates with clients regarding project progress and quality, proactively addressing any issues.
  • Review design documents for compliance and completeness, ensuring coordination among teams.
  • Delegate tasks to design teams for improvements and corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare presentation materials, including PowerPoint slides, for various stakeholders.
  • Oversee the resolution of project challenges and identify mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze project work plans and schedules, recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Manage proposal preparations, ensuring realistic scopes of work and accurate fee estimates.
  • Provide mentorship and support to team members, assisting in their professional development.
  • Commit to adhering to WSP's Health and Safety policies, leading by example in safety training and project health and safety plans.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Civil Engineering) from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects within budget and time constraints.
  • Expertise in major transportation infrastructure projects, including highways and transit systems.
  • Experience as a Project or Program Manager for large-scale engineering and construction P3 projects or alternative delivery models.
  • Strong background in project planning, risk management, cost management, and performance analysis.
  • Advocate for behavior-based safety practices in the workplace.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
